Course Overview

Duration: 1 academic year (12 months), featuring an intensive blend of classroom learning, advanced simulation labs, and critical care clinical rotations.
Objective: Equip nurses with specialized skills to manage cardiac emergencies, operate advanced life-support equipment, and provide pre- and post-operative care to patients undergoing open-heart or thoracic surgeries.
Governing Body: Standardized and approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and executed via recognized state medical universities and nursing colleges.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Completed General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) or B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from an INC-recognized institution.
Professional Registration: Must hold valid registration as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RN/RM) with any State Nursing Council.

Clinical Postings: Extensive hands-on residency inside Intensive Coronary Care Units (ICCU), Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Units (CTICU), Cardiac Cath Labs, and Cardiothoracic Operation Theatres (CTOT).
