Course Overview

Duration: 1 academic year (12 months), featuring intensive bedside clinical learning, advanced simulation lab training, and critical care theory.
Objective: Train nurses to quickly assess life-threatening conditions, monitor advanced hemodynamic parameters, operate complex life-support equipment, and make rapid clinical decisions.
Governing Body: Approved and standardized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and offered through affiliated state medical universities and nursing colleges.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Passed General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) or B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from an INC-recognized institution.
Professional Registration: Must hold a valid, active registration as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RN/RM) with any State Nursing Council.
Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a staff nurse, preferably in a hospital setup, completed after graduation.

Core Subjects: Advanced pathophysiology, pharmacology in critical care, mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, fluid and electrolyte balance, advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), trauma management, and infection control in ICUs.
Clinical Postings: Extensive hands-on residency inside Medical Intensive Care Units (MICU), Surgical ICUs (SICU), Trauma ICUs, Emergency and Casualty departments, and Burn units.
