About UP Dashmottar Scholarship 2026-27
The Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department has released the official schedule (शासनादेश) for disbursing the Dashmottar Scholarship — the state scholarship covering education allowance and fee reimbursement — to students of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, General, Other Backward Class and Minority categories studying in higher classes (Class 12 and above, i.e., degree, diploma, ITI and other post-12th courses) for the 2026-27 academic session.
This schedule applies specifically to Dashmottar scholarships (post-Class 12 courses) and covers both Fresh applicants (applying for the first time) and Renewal applicants (continuing students).
Key Highlights
- Covers Fresh and Renewal applications for the Dashmottar Scholarship (courses after Class 12 — degree, diploma, ITI, etc.).
- Applicable to students from the SC, ST, OBC, General and Minority categories.
- Scholarship amount includes both education allowance and fee reimbursement.
- The entire process — institution verification, university verification, NIC scrutiny and fund transfer — runs through the online scholarship portal and PFMS, with digital signatures required at every stage.
- Payments are made directly to students' Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts.
- A separate, extended timeline is provided for applications flagged as suspicious or error-filled, so no eligible student is left out due to data mismatches.
Eligibility (General Criteria)
While this particular order deals with the payment schedule, the underlying Dashmottar Scholarship is generally available to students who:
- Are domiciled in Uttar Pradesh.
- Are studying in Class 12 or above in a recognised degree, diploma, ITI, polytechnic or other post-12th course.
- Belong to the SC, ST, OBC, General or Minority category.
- Are enrolled in a government, government-aided, or recognised private institution within UP, or in an empanelled government/government-aided institution outside the state.
- Meet the income and academic eligibility norms notified separately for each category under the UP Scholarship scheme.
Students should confirm exact income limits and course-wise eligibility on the official portal, as these are notified separately from this schedule order.

How to Apply / Renew
- Visit the official UP Scholarship Portal (scholarship.up.gov.in).
- Fresh applicants: Complete registration, fill the online application form, and take a final printout.
- Renewal applicants: Log in with existing credentials and update the renewal form.
- Submit the hard copy of the application, along with required documents, to your institution within the notified window.
- The institution verifies your biometric details, marks, and attendance, then forwards the application online.
- Your university/affiliating agency and the district committee complete further verification.
- Once data is locked and demand is generated, the scholarship amount is transferred directly to your Aadhaar-seeded bank account.
Important Rules for Students & Institutions
- Verification by the university/affiliating agency can only begin after the institution's master data (course, fee, seats) has been locked at the district level.
- For renewal, the student's annual (or both semesters', where applicable) exam result must be declared and the student must be promoted with marks before the institution can forward the application.
- If results are not declared or exams have not been held, the institution cannot forward the application; doing so can invite legal action against the institution under scheme rules.
- Institutions must accurately record the student's enrollment number, previous class result, and attendance percentage at the time of forwarding.
- Universities and affiliating agencies must upload results to the scholarship portal immediately after declaration so they can be matched during scrutiny.
- Applications must be decided at every level within the notified timeframe — correct applications are to be verified and forwarded, incorrect ones rejected; no application may be left pending. Individual accountability is fixed on the concerned nodal officer for delays.
- Once a student's data is locked for renewal, it must also be blocked from demand generation at other levels, to prevent duplicate payment.
