About Kotak Kanya Scholarship 2026-27

The Kotak Kanya Scholarship is a CSR initiative of Kotak Mahindra Group companies implemented in collaboration with the Kotak Education Foundation. The scholarship aims to support meritorious girl students from financially disadvantaged sections of society and help them pursue higher education in professional fields after Class 12.

Under the Kotak Kanya Scholarship 2026-27, eligible girl students who have secured admission to the first year of professional graduation courses at reputed institutes can receive financial assistance of ₹1.5 lakh per year. The scholarship can support academic expenses throughout the student's professional graduation course, subject to fulfilment of the applicable renewal conditions.

Scholarship Benefits

Selected scholars can receive:

• ₹1.5 lakh per year as scholarship assistance.
• Financial support until completion of the professional graduation course, subject to annual renewal.
• Support for expenses such as tuition fees, hostel fees, internet, transportation, laptop, books and stationery.
• Mentoring and life-skills support.
• Mental well-being and personal leadership development support.
• Professional development and finishing-school opportunities.
• Industry interactions and additional academic support.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must fulfil the eligibility requirements specified for the 2026-27 scholarship:

• The scholarship is open to meritorious girl students across India.
• Applicants must have secured at least 75% marks or an equivalent CGPA in Class 12.
• The applicant's annual family income should be less than ₹6 lakh.
• The applicant must have secured admission to the first year of a graduation programme for the academic year 2026-27.
• The course should be a professional graduation programme such as Engineering, MBBS, Integrated LLB (5 years), Integrated BS-MS/BS-Research, Design, Architecture or other eligible professional courses.
• Eligible students should be studying at reputed institutes, including institutes covered under the scholarship's stated NIRF/NAAC criteria.
• Children of employees of Kotak Mahindra Group, Kotak Education Foundation and Buddy4Study are not eligible.

Selection Process

The selection process is based on academic merit and financial background. According to the official information, the process includes initial shortlisting followed by two rounds of interviews for top-performing applicants. Final selection and scholarship award are at the discretion of Kotak Education Foundation.

Scholarship Renewal

The scholarship can continue until completion of the student's professional graduation course, subject to the applicable renewal conditions.

For renewal, students are expected to:

• Continue attending regular academic sessions without dropping out.
• Maintain good disciplinary conduct.
• Achieve at least 6 CGPA annually or be promoted to the next academic year, as applicable.
• Submit academic performance and fee-related documents as required.
• Meet the renewal conditions prescribed by Kotak Education Foundation.

Renewal in subsequent years remains at the discretion of Kotak Education Foundation.

How the Scholarship Amount is Paid

The scholarship amount is transferred annually to the selected scholar's bank account. If the selected student is a minor at the time of selection, the amount may initially be credited to the parent or guardian's bank account. After the student turns 18, the scholarship amount is transferred to the scholar's account, subject to the applicable process.
