The admission procedure for Class IX at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Schools for the 2026–27 academic session is given below.

Class IX Admission Procedure

Schools & Intake

• Boys: STS School, RMPS AMU City School, AMU ABK High School
• Girls: AMU Girls’ School, AMU ABK High School
• Medium: English Medium only

Eligibility

Candidates must have passed Class VIII from a recognized school.

Age Limit

Candidates must be between 13 to 15 years as on 31 March 2026.

(Date of Birth between 01 April 2011 and 31 March 2013)

Selection Process

Admission is based on an Admission Test consisting of:

• Written Test: 85 Marks
  • Section I – Languages (25 Marks)
  • Section II – Mathematics, Science & Social Science (60 Marks)
• Interview: 15 Marks

Note: Minimum 40% marks in Section I of the written test is mandatory to qualify for the interview. A minimum of 40% marks in the interview is required for final selection.

Important Common Information

• Hostel Accommodation: Limited facilities are available only for Class VI (boys at STS) and Class IX (boys at STS; girls at AMU Girls’ School). Admission does not guarantee hostel accommodation.
• Special Categories: Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (5%), children of AMU alumni, and children of AMU employees.
• Negative Marking: No negative marking in OMR-based written tests.
• Result & Counselling: Shortlisted candidates must participate in online counselling followed by physical document verification.
