The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test [NEET (UG)], conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), serves as a common and standardized examination for admissions to undergraduate medical programs in all medical institutions across India.
As per the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020, NEET (UG) is the mandatory entrance test for undergraduate courses like MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS in the Indian System of Medicine. Additionally, NEET (UG) is also applicable for admissions to the BHMS program. NEET scores is also a key factor for shortlisting candidates for the four-year BSc Nursing course.
NEET is conducted in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu, making it accessible to students nationwide.
NEET 2025 Exam Pattern
There are 200 questions in NEET UG exam of multiple choice nature. Out of these 200 questions, students have to answer only 180 questions. These questions are divided into two sections - Section A and Section B. Section A of each subject contains 35 questions, while section B consists of 15 questions each. Out of these 15 questions of section B, candidates can answer any 10 questions. NEET UG is paper-pencil-based test (PBT) of 200 minutes or 3 hours and 20 minutes duration.

- There will be one mark of negative marking for each wrong attempt.
- Answers once marked in the NEET OMR sheet cannot be changed. Marking more than one option will be calculated as negative marks
NEET 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must be 17 years old and have completed or be appearing for Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.
