Eligibility
10+2 from a recognised board in any stream, with the minimum marks set by the institute (about 45% to 50% in many cases) and a valid entrance score (CLAT, AILET, LSAT-India, CUET or the institute's own test). Age and marks rules vary by institute.
Admission
Admission to the National Law Universities is through CLAT (UG), and to NLU Delhi through AILET. Many other law schools use LSAT-India, CUET (UG) or their own tests (for example SLAT, MH CET Law and others), or merit. Check each institute's notice for the current process.
Registration & Recognition
To practise as an advocate in India you need a law degree from an institution approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI), enrolment with a State Bar Council, and a pass in the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) for a Certificate of Practice.
