JEE Main 2025: Complete exam information

The Joint Entrance Examination (Main), commonly known as JEE Main, is a national-level entrance exam for admission to BTech, BArch, and BPlan programs. 

This important exam opens the door to admission in well-known institutions such as NITs, IIITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), along with universities and colleges recognized by participating state governments.

JEE Main is also the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced, which is the entry test for admission to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

JEE Main Exam Pattern for Paper-1 (B.Tech/B.E.)

• The toal number of marks is 300.

• There will be 4 marks foreach correct answer.

• There will be negative marking of 1 mark foreach wrong answer.

• The duration for this test is 3 Hours (180 Minutes).

• The test will be online computer based examination.

JEE Main Exam Pattern for Paper-2 (B.Arch.)

• The toal number of marks is 400.

• There will be negative marking of 1 mark foreach wrong answer. There is no negative marking for drawing test.

• The duration for this test is 3 Hours (180 Minutes).

• The test will be online computer based examination, except for Drawing section.

JEE Main Exam Pattern for Paper-2 (B.Plan.)

• The toal number of marks is 400.

• There will be negative marking of 1 mark foreach wrong answer.

• The duration for this test is 3 Hours (180 Minutes).

• The test will be online computer based examination.

JEE Exam Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have completed or be appearing for Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology.
